Adobe has launched Commerce Cloud, a new cloud service based on the Magento platform acquired by Adobe in 2018. The Commerce Cloud will complement the Adobe Experience Cloud alongside other tools like Marketing Cloud and Advertising Cloud to offer businesses a platform unified multipurpose. In May 2018, Adobe bought the Magento platform for $ 1.68 billion. Nearly a year later, as part of its Adobe Summit conference, the firm finally reveals Commerce Cloud in March 2019. To simply put, this is a cloud version of the Magento platform that will complement the Adobe Experience Cloud. In fact, the Commerce Cloud will be fully integrated with other Adobe tools such as Analytics Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Advertising Cloud.
As a reminder, Magento is an open source platform that provides businesses with tools to easily create and manage their e-commerce stores. With Commerce Cloud, Adobe adds new features such as dashboards to monitor an organization’s e-commerce strategy.
In addition, it will now be possible to manage your Amazon marketplace directly from the Commerce Cloud interface . Users will be able to choose which products from their inventories will appear on Amazon, and at what price. In addition to being the last missing piece of the Experience Cloud, Commerce Cloud will allow businesses to collect more data on how consumers interact with their brands. Finally, thanks to the Cloud, the service will now be flexible and scalable.

The Phobia in F/OSS Community Following Acquisition of Magento
Acquisition of Magento and unrelated acquisition of Studiopress created phobia among the WordPress developers and WordPress users. Matt was directly asked whether Google will acquire WordPress. Matt, however denied such chance.
It is known that Adobe paid over 1.6 Billion to acquire Magento. Technology is rapidly being integrated into online shopping habits. eCommerce is an active and expanding industry. When Adobe announced of acquiring Magento for US$1.68 billion, it was a big news. However, Magento’s Enterprise eCommerce platform and Adobe’s marketing products actually sing together and has least similarity with WordPress.
WordPress itself not enough optimized out of the box to acquire. WordPress dot ORG and WordPress dot COM are separate. It is better for thinking own development. Matt unlikely to release WordPress dot COM platform from own hand for his expanding business character. It is fact that CentOS, Debian exists and Ubuntu just grown side-by-side. Magento was acquired more for grasping the e-commerce audience.
