Normally we use breadboard for prototyping and various types of prototyping boards to make an Arduino project permanent. In such case, usually we do not use the Arduino development board but we use the components to build Arduino. However, not all project needs so much effort. For some, making only the non-Arduino part of circuit permanent works fine. In this Arduino UNO prototype shield tutorial we will explain how we can use to convert a project semi-permanent with shield, components & solder.
Arduino UNO Prototype Shield Tutorial : Sellers
As the hardware design is open source, from Arduino, Adafruit to China Companies sell Arduino UNO prototype shield. Honestly, for just ordinary projects we do not need hugely precise quality of prototype shield. Our need factually is somewhat towards cheap alternative to perf board with breadboard layout.
You must know that there is Arduino UNO Prototype Shields sold by Arduino, Adafruit and Sparkfun :

Those sellers should get used with China’s pricing. $10 – $15 can not be price of such thing, we can hardly pay $2 – $4 per shield. In other words, we will prefer Made in China, Made in India Arduino UNO prototype shield. That board has not many things that will cost so huge in mass manufacturing. Some sellers of China, India also solder the basic needed things within that cost. If you buy only components (which are kit which needs to be soldered), you have to work like manual labourer :

When China is selling ready-to use “assembled” Arduino UNO prototype shield at $3 with love, we should not ignore them.
There is also universal proto shield which are designed to cover both Arduino and Raspberry Pi and usually are bigger.
Arduino UNO Prototype Shield Tutorial
First, you should have the components for a projects which you’ll permanently solder on the board. Like, as if you are following my Arduino door bell with 3 LED project on Arduino project hub :

In that case, you are not thinking to re-use the components like buzzer, resistors etc but solder them on the prototype shield. Even you do not know soldering, you definitely know how to stack one board over the other, place the mini breadboard and create circuit. For smaller projects, the matter remains clean.
Secondly, you should know how to solder through hole components.
Thirdly, you should know what are standoff, spacer, standoff screw etc.
