A Fake News Circulated by Some News Sites That HP Public Cloud is Going to Shut Down. HP Helion is a Bigger Product Range and Continuing Well. We will know before and inform if HP Helion Cloud is shutting down. In fact we have seen a growth in the number of Cloud DNS users in last few months. HP is the largest code contributor of OpenStack! For practical reasons they’ll keep a division open for Public Cloud. None of these peoples who published “HP Public Cloud is Going to Shut Down” ever used HP Cloud for sure. HP operates one of the largest OpenStack based public cloud on this Earth. HP Cloud is a big entity and possibly one person from one department will not know another. It is never possible to quit within 15 days with clients, partners, mirrors and repo. The comment was more for own criticism for the revenue aspect.

There are lot of different variation in the subdomain parts of hp.com. They are probably dividing their departments and increasing the investment for different client groups. HP Cloud is not exactly like Rackspace that can be easily understood in one shot.

Quite practical fact – most of us can not handle the data with < 10 years old websites. HP, IBM are oldest domains on this planet, on the same IP range that of us HP has their own websites! ICANN has no "return of IPv4" back policy. Data migration is not easy plus they would inform the clients first.
We have old tutorials on HP Cloud. They are when HP first launched their public cloud services. It was completely different looking. That change was the major change. They will change or think about their marketing strategy that was probably indicated by “We thought people would rent or buy computing from us”, “It turns out that it makes no sense for us to go head-to-head.” $300 for attracting the new clients is given, that “cloud credit” possibly will not be given. Hybrid Cloud is growing, it is quite known thing. The same company who will use Hybrid Cloud will use Public Cloud for company’s web hosting.
HP Cloud has an old banner with red box informing that old migration alert. There is written that – “As previously announced…”. That was to access Horizon. So many phrases with Horizons made confused and the banner for sure made them to come to quick conclusion – “…oho, HP actually SECRETLY told their clients…all websites will migrated to hybrid cloud then.”
This is not quite funny because from the wrong news an employee can get fearful about his/her placement. We loosely use the word HP Cloud, their marketplace connects with their other paid services from monitoring to everything. The accounts are basically different.
