Wide Angle Lens give expansion of the distances plus it provide greater angle of view, shallow depth of field and have a considerably faster focus. Wide Angle Lens : Greater angle of view
The important consequence of the use of short focal lengths is the increase in angle of view. This means that with wide angle lens, our field of vision broadens, we can see more in our photographs. From the compositional point of view, this means that, with a wide angle lens can capture more context. You may be too far from the main subject and at the same time take pictures of many things in the background. In fact, this is one of the reasons why in reportage and street photography are widely used lenses are of short focal lengths. Wide Angle Lens : Shallow depth of field
The depth of field is controlled by the size of opening , but it also affects the focal length. Shorter focal lengths greatly increase the depth of field. Therefore, photos that require a very high depth of field, such as landscapes; benefit of wide angle lens. Even without using too high values ??of openness, these lenses allow you to have scenes entirely clear from the first step to the object farther away. With a focal length of 18mm on APS-C sensor with f/11 aperture and focusing distance of 1.45 m, you are already have the chance to focus to infinity. Wide Angle Lens : Ease-of-focus
Wide-angle lenses have a focus that is considerably faster and easier than telephoto lenses. This is mainly due to the large depth of field that we mentioned above. The depth of field of a telephoto lens makes it difficult to focus on exactly where you want it, especially with wide apertures.
