SixthSense : Get More Advanced and Cheap Device than Google Glass

SixthSense is an one person Open Source Hardware project related to Augmented Reality. You can buy the hardwares and assemble yourself at $350 to get your piece. We are assuming that the readers of this article has in depth knowledge about Augmented Reallity, Cyborg and related topics closer to Cognitive Science but can not spend or wish not to spend for similar device. Google has no practical difference with SixthSense except, SixthSense is more advanced, old and supports gesture, is a Free Software, the person will not take money from you, you can modify the code or the hardware. It is obvious, if you replace the projector and use a HUD unit over your glass, it will become SixthSense Glass and you do not have to talk but gesture will work.

I personally think, its better to buy a laptop/tablet, a DSLR and what ever you want in $1500.00 and viewing things like a car’s windshield – if money is itching you and you have not been asked to promote the product. Probably Apple Inc. would get ashamed to add that price tag for similar device plus the packing, hardware quality, documentation would have been better. But if more advanced gadget can be manufactured at around $350.00, what is the need to think ?

There are some websites where the actual process has been shown to build. SixthSense has negative point of being Windows PC dependent. The code is written on C/C++, obviously it can be made for UNIX/Linux. Yes, the whole setup is bigger because the functions are advanced, bigger field of view etc.
