SixthSense is an one person Open Source Hardware project related to Augmented Reality. You can buy the hardwares and assemble yourself at $350 to get your piece. We are assuming that the readers of this article has in depth knowledge about Augmented Reallity, Cyborg and related topics closer to Cognitive Science but can not spend or wish not to spend for similar device. Google has no practical difference with SixthSense except, SixthSense is more advanced, old and supports gesture, is a Free Software, the person will not take money from you, you can modify the code or the hardware. It is obvious, if you replace the projector and use a HUD unit over your glass, it will become SixthSense Glass and you do not have to talk but gesture will work.
SixthSense : Get Started with Minimum needed Knowledge
Those who have less idea about the basics of Google Glass or SixthSense like things, must read at least these small articles :
Google search with Pranav Mistry and you will understand that, he is not a small person but has no intension to fetch money en-mass from ‘kick-starter project’ with ‘launching in late 2013’. Most people has forgotten Pranav Mistry in just 4 years. Google’s code named X Lab is one of the most fishy project on this Earth beside similar hidden projects by Microsoft and other bigger software companies. We wrote something about these aspects on Blue Brain Project and Whole Brain Simulation.

First, visit this page of SixSense :

And read the whole page carefully. The comments and new links by knowledgeable persons via comments are important. When I am writing, just 18 hours ago, Google has announced the release of the source code. It is also a matter of fact, Google Glass despite is made Open Source it will be tad hard to escape Googe Ads – we have quite good experience with Android. Think if a Malware misdirect you to a wrong fake shop. Anyway the links :

I can not give warranty about the availability of the source codes. You can point towards this webpage :

And ask that Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols how to use them on your hardware. When he is claiming that he writing about ‘networking, Linux, open source, and operating systems’, he must prove that he has minimum knowledge on only one topic.
I personally think, its better to buy a laptop/tablet, a DSLR and what ever you want in $1500.00 and viewing things like a car’s windshield – if money is itching you and you have not been asked to promote the product. Probably Apple Inc. would get ashamed to add that price tag for similar device plus the packing, hardware quality, documentation would have been better. But if more advanced gadget can be manufactured at around $350.00, what is the need to think ?
SixthSense : Getting Your Own Device Build
It will take time and knowledge to build your own SixthSense, thats too more customized for your need. The resource is already given above, you can read what are components those are required for SixthSense :

There are some websites where the actual process has been shown to build. SixthSense has negative point of being Windows PC dependent. The code is written on C/C++, obviously it can be made for UNIX/Linux. Yes, the whole setup is bigger because the functions are advanced, bigger field of view etc.
