Quick Tips for Great Pictures
Look at the subject at eye level
Subject means the thing you will take picture off. That means your Girlfriend, Wife or Boyfriend. It can mean a lamp post as well, if you are targeting for a lamp post. Direct eye contact is engaging in a picture than in reality. When you shoot someone, hold the camera at eye level of the person to enter the entire magnetic gazes and mesmerizing smiles (yes, use these adjectives too, verbally). If they are children, that means stooping to their level. It is unnecessary that the subject systematically a fixed target, in being at eye level, the angle of the photo creates a personal and inviting feeling that pulls you into the picture.
Use a simple background
A simple background highlights on the subject. When you look through the viewfinder of the camera, observe well the environment of the subject. Make sure that twigs of a tree does not comes at the same level of your Girlfriend / Wife / Boyfriend’s ear. This frequently happens and the person gets angry as basically it looks bad.
Use flash on Sunny outdoors
Sunlight sometimes creates unsightly shadows on the face. To remove, use the flash, the face will be brighter. When photographing people, even in sunny weather, remember to activate the flash. You can have the choice between two flash : external or integrated. If the subject is within five feet, use the fill-in flash. On a digital camera, use the display to enjoy the result. On cloudy days, use the Fill in flash if the camera has. The flash illuminates the faces and make them to stand out. You can also take pictures without flash, because the soft light of an overcast sky is sometimes enough to give as good results.
Get close
If the subject is smaller than a car, move closer to a step or two before taking the picture and zoom. The aim is that the subject fills the entire area of the photograph. Closer details such as freckles or expression of an eyebrow are revealed. Do not, however, approach too close to invite a blurred picture. The focus distance is shorter for most cameras and is about one meter, a distance of one step. If you do not respect the distance minimum focusing distance, your pictures will be blurry. It is obvious, we are talking about a compact point and shoot digital camera, not a DSLR.

If the subject is not the center of the photograph, you must lock the focus to get a sharp image. Most cameras equipped with autofocus, yet it frequently happens that the subject is off to make the photo less static. To avoid blurry pictures, you must first lock the focus with the subject in the center, then recompose the shot by moving the subject. Locking process takes place in three stages. Start by centering the subject, then press the shutter button halfway and hold. Then reposition the camera (keeping the button pressed halfway) to get the subject. Finally, press the shutter button fully to take the picture.
Take some vertical photos
It is sometimes best to photograph in a vertical perspective, when it comes, for example, a lighthouse near a cliff to the Eiffel Tower or your toddler jumping feet first into a puddle. So, the next time, remember to turn your camera.
