Choosing a MacBook is difficult decision those who are new. It becomes difficult to pick from MacBook Pro 15″ or MacBook Pro 13″ or MacBook Air. Here is Guide. This article on Choosing a MacBook is intended for those who have fully decided to buy an Apple product as computer either himself or herself or reading and neutral guide like we published before – Desktop and Laptop Buyer™s Guide. One major thing we want to emphasize before going to much details for choosing a MacBook – a Mac is a professional grade computer, it needs more care for keeping it working for 7 years or more, more reading is needed for calibration. It might happen, for outdoor usage, you will need a cheap Windows based laptop for just doing the work on the go. It is quite normal that a thief will be attracted to steal a MacBook, even the thief is not aware that the resell market of a MacBook is quite good, the appearance definitely speaks that it is a costly machine.
Choosing a MacBook : MacBook Pro 15″ or MacBook Pro 13″ or MacBook Air or more Complex Question
First thing is that, Choosing a MacBook from MacBook Pro 15″ non Retina, MacBook Pro 15″ Retina or MacBook Pro 13″ or MacBook Air is not so easy decision that you can take sitting at home or looking at Apple’s website. It does not matter whether you are using a Windows Laptop for 100 years or 500 years. Choosing a MacBook requires you to check them from a physical Apple Store or Apple Premium Reseller’s outlet. Never buy a MacBook from a shop which are not listed on Apple’s official website. There are hundreds of reasons behind it.
MacBook Air is a fully different segment. The thing is made keeping mobility in mind. If MacBook Air satisfies your need, there is no reason to think above it. Spec changes with time, but practically it is a 13″ high quality netbook with all solid state.

I personally do not recommend to buy MacBook Pro 13″ by any means. It has a kind of compromised spec from various aspect, if you increase your budget a bit, MacBook Pro 15″ non retina is far better future proof option. The body and other things are absolutely fine for MacBook Pro 13″. The major thing, in my usage pattern appears that, it gets a bit warm sooner than the 15″. It is not actually a problem, in fact it remains chilled if you compare with laptop from HP, Dell, Sony etc. brand’s non-unibody model. The surface area is smaller, it is obvious to get a bit warm. The major things are the absence of a dedicated graphics card; at this price range, it is not acceptable to get a thing without a graphics card.
MacBook Pro 17″ is basically for graphical works. It is impractical thought to carry it easily. MacBook Pro 15″ is and was always the best pick. But there is a conflict now.
Choosing a MacBook : MacBook Pro 15″ Retina or MacBook Pro 15″ non Retina
Despite high quality newest things inside, unfortunately MacBook Pro 15″ Retina has few things lesser than MacBook Pro 15″ non Retina and the Retina costs more. Among the missing things, most important is the Optical Drive / SuperDrive. MacBook Pro 15″ Retina is probably designed for the higher segment of MacBook Air users. In other words, truly speaking, MacBook Pro 15″ has no Retina model, Retina is a new segment not for the display but for the other changes. MacBook Pro 15″ non Retina and MacBook Pro 15″ Retina differs so much, as an owner of both MacBook Pro 15″ Retina and non Retina models, I can definitely say – MacBook Pro 15″ Retina is a solid loss to buy. First you have to buy an external SuperDrive and carry it with you, second you will basically get not much difference in day to day core computing works. It has basically a richer display, for getting a richer display, you can buy an external Retina display which is better to watch movies using MacBook Pro 15″ non Retina’s superdrive. Optical Disks, such as CD, DVD are still important.
