The basic idea of adding a Third Level Domain in Rackspace Cloud Sites will only work if there is a real subdomain. The limit of Third Level Domain is 50 in number. It is globally accepted number for various reasons. Google gives the same value that of the main domain after few months crawling. That is why you can basically see the Third Level Domains of academic websites in Google search. If the main domain’s name is bigger like of us, you might never get any importance in search result, at least for .com, .net domains. Principally its for convenience of internal usage, it is not for SEO, but it is a good choice for demo creation where you need not to get indexed easily.
