We may run a website anonymously to enhance our security. We are talking about operating a website over Clearnet i.e. there will be a domain name, a DNS, a web server and an IP. The web services which help to operate a website anonymously are mostly for minimising the attack vectors in various ways. In the case of a professional or business website, we can not use WHOIS privacy for marketing purpose. It is meaningless for our blog (which is attached to a media consultancy) to use WHOIS privacy. A web search with “The Customize Windows” will reveal 50% about me. I ignore the risks.
A targeted attacker like a terrorist will not run behind me just because I can make a circuit responding with a particular smartwatch. As I do not use WHOIS privacy, the publicly available face a huge number of text-based spams. Exactly like WHOIS privacy, not registering a domain or not using a credit card linked to your name will reduce the chance of your identity being quickly discovered. Some valuable peoples can be targeted.
A reliable way for anonymous domain purchase includes registering via an offshore company. Many of them keep the list of owners so private that even investigations at the government level may turn empty. They will tend to charge 2 to 10 times when compared with a regular company. The weakest points are DNS service and hosting.

If I take that you are using public Wi-Fi with hardware which is not purchased by you, even with a zero-log VPN, there are traces when you’ll SSH to the server or configure the DNS. It is not that your security can not be made enough high. The exceptional peoples who will try to find you put some baits which will invite you to take some steps, like doing an SSH or sending an email. So, with anonymous domain purchase, a similar anonymous hosting provider with a DNS service, a Top rated VPN or Tor browser, a public Wi-Fi, and unidentifiable hardware – you can run an HTML website anonymously. But the cost is 2 to 10 times more than with the “normal services”.
As because these services of clearnet entirely rely on the persons, not exactly the technology, I think it is as if relying upon a random brother of Shylock. Tor system, including .onion
domains (which includes the Dark Web, Dark Web is a part of the Deep Web) are technically safer “domains”. So far, Tor hosting with the .onion
domain shown to be the most powerful to protect the identity. There is no such thing as 100% security, and even Tor has some vulnerabilities.
We are not security experts but we wanted to warn about “being anonymous”.
